CONFLICT RESOLUTION SUB-COMMITTEE

While most sports have a grievance procedure, Gay Games hosts need a simple, clear, and effective policy guide for each sport so as to provide prompt resolution to any dispute.

This group will review and revise as necessary the policy for handling conflict resolution within the Gay Games sports events. This includes such areas as:

  • Grievance Procedure and appeals process. How does one move from technical rules at sport level to the appeal process?
  • Scenario planning for types of issues that may come up and which panel of judges on the grievance committee should hear these appeals. Types of issues may include:
    • Gender issues
    • Change in event schedule without proper notice
    • Poor communication among Games officials and participants
    • Rules aren't communicated to participants properly
    • Participant arrives late due to circumstances beyond their control
The goal is to have a finished document for Cologne by the 2008 Annual Meeting.

If you are interested in the activities of this Sub-Committee we encourage you to e-mail the Co-Chairs directly, or visit the web sites of any of the Federation's Assembly Organizations.
