Fortunately for our community, a handful of dedicated and visionary people, led by former Olympian Dr. Tom Waddell, organized and created the first Gay Games and Cultural Festival. The rest, as they say, is history. The international Federation of Gay Games (FGG) will celebrate the creation of the Gay Games and Cultural Festival at a special 25th Anniversary Legacy Weekend on October 27 & 28, 2007. These events will be held in San Francisco, California—the host city of Gay Games I and II in 1982 and 1986. We hope that you will join us for some—if not all—of the wonderful events we have planned. Learn more about these events and how you can participate, click below.
The 25th Anniversary Legacy Weekend is not just to honor the past 25 years, but to look toward the next quarter century. Funds from the Dinner and Silent Auction will benefit the ongoing work of the FGG to ensure that the Gay Games and Cultural Festival continues to be a strong and vibrant part of the larger LGBT community. Those of us who have experienced the magic and enthusiasm of the Gay Games know what a powerful force it can be. Perhaps the best way to honor that Legacy is to ensure that it continues for those that come after us. Please join us in San Francisco on October 27-28 for a truly unforgettable experience.
